Marcus Ethan Tom was born in April of 2014 and by the age of two, started doing things that weren't typical of two year olds. You can learn more about that in the 10th episode of Planet Marcus...to be released soon. But long story short, he was very smart.
So when Marcus expressed an interest in doing videos at the age of four, after seeing kids on YouTube doing toy reviews, his dad (Murphy) was excited to start sharing him with the world. He knew his little guy was very special and was thrilled that he wanted to get involved with videography.

But, being pressed for time, he kept putting it off.

It wasn't until January of 2020 that Murphy finally decided to give it a go. And because of the pandemic that soon followed, he was able to dedicate even more time to helping his son create videos for YouTube. But he insisted that the videos not be as obtuse as the material that was dominating the social platform.

And just like that, Planet Marcus was born!

We could spend a lot of time telling you about the channel, but maybe it would be best if you just explored it for yourself.

SOME OF HIS FAVORITE EPISODES
This was the first Planet Marcus video I ever did. It was about my parents taking me on a city-wide treasure hunt to reveal that I was going to Disney World for my 6th birthday.
With the world in a global shutdown over the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, people longed for signs of hope; we gave them that by simply walking the Allegheny River Valley Trail...and they really appreciated it.
By April 2020 the pandemic was in full swing, and my birthday was going to be very different this year. This will be a reminder of how surreal this period in time was for the rest of my life.
The Woodland in the City project was responsible for the erection of over 30 squirrel statues in Olean NY. The city takes great pride in this public art display, and boy did we have fun tracking them all down.
No matter what we do going forward, this episode of Planet Marcus will always be very special to me. The magical theme may have been made for the viewing pleasure of my subscribers, but it was nothing compared to the real magic I felt exploring the Pfeiffer Nature Center.

HORSEBACK RIDING
Horseback riding makes me feel like I'm on an adventure in the Wild West every time. I love riding. Horses are amazing.
